Subjects of interest
Over the course of the past few months, several subjects keep surfacing in my conversation with my circle of friends. Most of these subjects are narrowed to an American rather than a global perspective - a limitation of ignorance rather than indifference. Many of the subjects stem from a yearning for more or better instead of simply finding fault. There is a big difference between bitching about something and creating a sense of inspiration to improve. A sense of importance of these issues cause me to want to improve where I can and inspire others to do the same. It will be useful for me to comment on each of them to help clarify my thoughts and perhaps learn from any comments that others might post.
- our education system - teachers, parents, administrators, and the public at large
- American politics at city, state, and national levels
- the effect of lawyers on our culture - a slippery slope indeed
- the state of our healthcare system - exactly who is being served
- venture capitalists and wall street
- individual ethics, particularly in business
- parenting; disciplined thought and action, nurturing for real growth
- the music business, intellectual property and innovation
- the absence of heroes in business, sports, and neighborhoods
It may take some time, but let's see what ground I can cover
